DESCRIPTION: Campers
will experience first-hand the same teaching and philosophy the Vandals
experience. This is a fast paced and energetic atmosphere that features morning
individual practice sessions, 3 on 3 competitions, 1 on 1 competitions, goal
line challenge, afternoon team practice sessions and scrimmages, strength and
conditioning instruction, an overtime tourney and much more. All campers will
receive a camp T-shirt. Camp will conclude with scrimmages on Friday morning.
Campers will then check-out of dorms and camp will conclude with lunch.
Personal
Instruction: At all of our camps, the Vandal coaching staff are devoted to
giving hands-on, personal attention to every camper, including instruction by
one of the nation’s premier strength coaches, Scott Gadeken. Above all, our
campers will learn what it means to be a Vandal both on and off the football
field.
Check-In: Check-in
for camp will take place at the Kibbie Dome on the University of Idaho campus.
For the high school camp, registration is June 16th from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Health, Safety, and
Insurance Coverage: All participants must be covered by personal medical
insurance. Because of the rigorous daily schedule, each camper is encouraged to
come to camp in good physical condition. Every effort is made to protect the
health and the safety of each camper through the athletic training staff,
supervised warm up periods, constant inspection of equipment, and responsible
instruction. Campers without proper physician and parental signatures will not
be allowed to participate. Water will be available at all times.
Location, Supervision,
and Facilities: The football camp will take place on the University of Idaho
campus in Moscow, Idaho. Practice sessions for the high school camp are on Guy
Wicks fields. Campers attending our high school camp will be able to receive
informative instruction in our world class Iverson Speed and Strength Center
located in the Kibbie Dome. Meals for the high school camp will be served in
the Wallace Dining Center on an all-you-can-eat basis. Overnight campers will
stay in the Wallace Complex, conveniently located directly adjacent to the
practice fields. Security and Medical personnel will be available at all times
during our camps.
Transportation: For
our overnight campers attending the high school camp, due to NCAA regulations, we cannot provide
transportation from the local airport . Please contact Jonathan Smith at jsmith@uidaho.edu once your travel information is confirmed. Please give at least two
weeks notice before the start of camp to make your travel arrangements from the airport to camp.
What to Bring to
High School Camp: Campers need to bring cleats, shoulder pads, helmets,
football pants, and knee, thigh, hip and tail pads. If a camper cannot rent or
borrow equipment from his high school, equipment will be available to rent for
$30 per set. Campers also will need to bring bedding, pillow, towels and
toiletries. There are laundry facilities available at the residence halls.
**Refunds: Should
you not be able to participate in the full camp, because of serious injury, or
other unforeseen circumstances, refunds will be honored. Refunds will only be
given if the circumstances result in you leaving camp or not attending at all.
A $40 dollar administrative fee will be applied to all refunds given after camp
has started.
**High School
Coaches can receive college credit for working camp.
